Hello, I am new to this site but hope to learn from all of you guys. Well my story goes like this my dad and i bought our 1987 bass tracker 8 years ago and it ran great up until now. We had parked our boat 3 years ago after the season and as life goes we have been unable to get out until now, so after a complete clean-up and tune-up we hit the key and it will not start turns over fine but no spark. Can anyone help us please we bought a manual but not sure were it is best to start. thanks

these are great motors - i have an 88 i wont part with until death . could be either the switchbox or the stator most common.

you can remove the wire with black and yellow stripe from the switch box and retry - post back if it starts .

do you know how to use a multimeter to test for resistance ( ohms ) ?

post back and i will help .
