Need help on serial number..can't find carb kit on here...??

Fixing to rebuild the carbs on a friend of mines 88 Blackmax 150...I can't seem to find it anywhere...wants to show me an XR2 or MagII..I know what those are but this is an 88 Blackmax 150...should it have the same carb kit?? The serial number is OB962754...I have looked on iboats and ishopmarine.com and ebasic power.com and found differnet numbers for seirra and mallory kits...Just want to order the right one first.

Never done a mercs carbs...done some johnnyrudes though. Will I have all I need in one of the kits if I just order the gasket kit and needle/seat kit?? I don't know if we'll have a bad float or not yet. Just wondering because I couldn't find a kit that had all of it in one single kit.

Might be the same problem I had at my local marine shop. You can only purchase certain parts directly from a Mercury dealer. You will have to look locally for parts. I am not certain if they would be available online, ie: carb needles and floats, fuel pump kit...etc for my motor. Been a bit of a headache but less then paying for shipping to Canada anyhow.

many diff kits from water pumps to carb kits do more then one application.i had the same issue and just called iboats and they hooked me right up with my rebuild kits.and i belive they did severial applications
