I need to get my bow down at a slower speed. I have seen those fin things on other boats, I am not sure of the exact name of them, It looks like the screw on above the prop. Has anybody had any luck, good or bad with them? Also do you have to drill through your motor and if so what happens if you take the fins off and now you have holes there, does that affect operation or warranty? would sure appreacite any advice on them Thanks Paul

Yes, you usually drill hole to mount the hydrofoils.

I have them on my 90hp Johnson and 17' deep-V aluminum hull. Brings me up on plane faster and pretty much eliminates porpoising (front end bouncing) at cruising speed.

For slow speed, I use tilt/trim to bring the bow down as needed. Depending on your hull, it may be more of a weight distribution issue.

Doelfins work really well, Boat planes quicker and stays on plane with less power. The holes are relatively harmless drilled in cavation plate.
Check with dealer about warranty.
I had fins on a 15 ft 50hp. outboard and a 18ft.
120 hp. IO worked very well on both.T.H. is
right you may want to work on weight distribution.
If you are carrying a couple of tanks and a battery in the stern it would be hard to stay on plane. The first thing I did with my 15ft outboard was move the gas tank to up under the bow with
a built in tank.It helped a lot. Good luck.
