I have a 95 sylvan fishing boat and it has a rack steering system i cut the old one out and bought a new one ,i should have upgraded but didn't. my problem is i cant get the helm end in through the hole in the side of the boat by the motor or the end of the cable that attaches to the motor there is a 3 inch hole and then about 4 inches deep so i ht the outside of the boat . do i need to un rivet the back of the boat? or can i take apart the cable somehow at either end thanks
