That is a pretty vauge statement.

Does is turn over at all?
Do you have a kill switch?
Did you take the igntion wire off?
I am not really, mechanically inclined but I have been able to troubleshoot a lot of my own problems that are electrically related. Please provide a little more information. As even the experts will ask for this.

The first thing I would check is if you're getting spark at the engine? Kill switch?

sounds to me like you need a picture of the wiring diagram. it can be found in your mercruiser service manual. which you can find in the adults only sticky at the top of the i/o page if you don't have one. looks like you need #3 for the engine, and #4 for the drive... confirm proper s/m by serial number of your engine and drive..

What ziggy said, there is a good posibility that one of those wires you did not hook back up completed the electrical circuit. More info is needed for sure. Does the electrical turn on with the key, does the engine turn over, do you hear a click and no engine turn over, you get the idea, we need your help so we can help you.
