Need help to ID mercruiser outdrive

I need help to ID my outdrive.

1990 bayliner 2755 cierra sunbridge
5.7 mercruiser

The serial number is not very ledgable but this is what I can see:
00813828 (possibly a 4 after the 8)

I think this is an alpha 1 gen 1. Help

from reading, (i know Don S, your pet peeve... )

but to me the easiest way to tell alpha1 from alpha1 genII is the the skeg. if the back side of the skeg is straight, and from your pic, i think yours is. it's alpha1. if it's at an angle, it's genII...

Serial number is actually 0D813828... It's an Alpha One (Gen 1), 1989 and ratio should be 1.50:1. That would make it from a V8....

On the second number you have a (0), And it actually should be a (C) Because that comes back in the system as, Drive serial number: 0C813828 Model number 5010150BS MERCRUISER ALPHA 1.50:1 That originally had a 1989 MERCRUISER W/ PS 5.7L ALPHA style engine going to it.

The drive Manufacture Date was: 06/14/1989.

Hope this helps.

If The second number in had a (D) Then that comes back as Engine Serial number: 0D813828 Model number 430B000ES 1992 MERCRUISER WOPS-EST IGN 3.0L ALPHA I.

And if the letter was a B then that comes back as, (Transom serial number: 0B813828 Model number 6010000AS MERCRUISER ALPHA).

And there is no (00) number.

Ayuh,... It's an Alpha 1,... Gen.IIs didn't come out til 91...

Quite right sir... I tries 'D' first, then 'C'... Must have still had 'D' in my mind... and it was late... (for me)

As always gentlemen a big THANK YOU for the information. This forum has given me so much knowledge that it is amazing to me. Our season is begining directly and we will be continuing the restoration process of our bayliner sunbridge 2755 and I am sure you will see peanutbay1 on here with alot more questions. Again thank you all for your help!!!!!!!
