1985 Champion w/Mercury 175.

I went out this weekend and the trim up and down appeared fine. I brought the boat home and now the trim isn't working. The batteries are charged so I am not sure what the problem could be. I can't see any loose or disconnected wires. It just makes a click sound, no movement at all. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response. How would I apply power straight to the pump motor?

Use a heavy wire or pliers handles and arc around the solinoid (large post to large post) If the system clicks both up and down it sounds like the pump motor

Could just be the brushes in the motor. Any auto electrician should be able to trouble shoot it in 5 minutes.

Thanks for all the help. I am dropping the Champion off at the dealer and just bought a 2006 Skeeter SL190. Shouldn't have to worry about things like this for a while.
