Hello! Please let me know if I need to post this question in a different forum. I have a 1966 50HP Sea King that I am putting on a 1965 14' Starcraft Runabout. I have done a lot of research on Goolge, but I can't find anything. Basically, I need to wire it up. Engine turns over fine when going through jumper cables. I hooked up some wires, but obviously didn't do it right :)

I turn the ignition, and hear a click at the junction box thing where all of the electronic meet at the transom. I'm assuming I just don't have the ignition wired properly (if at all) to the outboard. There are 2 blue wires coming from the outboard that I'm assuming need to be hooked up, but I'm not sure where or even if that is correct. I hope the pictures I attached help. This isn't the original motor that went on the starcraft. I have really close up pics if the ones I attached on't help. This one came from a pontoon. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!!

Engine Details:
Model # VWB19099A

Serial # GGX10605

50hp Montgomery Ward Sea King made by Chrysler.

Year - 1966

Cyl - 2

What are you doing with that OMC junction box anyway? That doesn't go with a Chrysler. Don't you already have a solenoid on the motor? Scroll down on this forum, I've posted the wiring diagram a couple of times very recently. Also applies to 35, 40, 45hp, etc

Thanks! I didn't know I shouldn't be using that junction box. I'll search through some of your previous posts. I really appreciate the response!

I checked the wiring diagram posted here: http://forums.iboats.com/other-outboard-brands/74-35hp-sea-king-vwb-52036-a-598316.html
It seems a little different from mine. The yellow on this is a Neutral Switch, where my yellow says Start, and goes to the started solenoid. I tried hooking the two blue wires from the Sea King to the ignition wires from the ignition switch, but I got nothing. Originally, only 1 wire from the ignition was hooked into the OEM junction box (I got a "click" when I hooked up a battery, so I am assuming it was hooked up OK). I actually tried several ways: hooking only one wire, both wires, 3 together - didn't get anything. I apologize if I am not explaining things correctly - this is the first time I have attempted something like this so I am obviously clueless :) I?m sure it is something simple, I just have no clue what I am looking at.

I attached some close up pics of the electrical from the Sea King. I hope they help. Like I said, I can jump the engine from starter cables, just can't get it to come to life using the ignition switch.

The way I see it, the wiring diagram I posted is correct. If you get rid of that junction box junk, and wire your motor according to the diagram, it should work.
