I have a 1994 pro-line with new 225 e-tecs.The boat also has twin 150 gallon s.steel tanks which I filled first thing this year.after about two hours running time my starboard engine started throbing and then cut out.Thinking or guessing it might be a gas problem i changed the in line gas filter (water seperator), not the one under the engine cover. The engine started and I got around one hour running time before the engine cut out again. I then checked the vent hose and i was able to easily blow air through the hose also the first filter I changed had a lot of tiny particles in the gas I poured out of the filter but i saw no water or sludge. The second filter had few particles and no water. The third time it occurred I changed fuel tanks via the valve switch and the engine started running normal right away.My problem is that the filter is after the fuel switch and each motor has its own fuel
line into each tank. If it was a clogged filter
why did the motor run normal after switching tanks. Today i was running my port engine off the starboard tank and that engine started throbbing.
I then ran both engines off the port tank and everything ran normal. something is not right in the starboard tank but my filters dont appear to be clogged or are they? I need a solution anybody out have any ideas?

Sounds like the anti-syphion valve on the starboard tank is sticking try replacing it

Re: need help with fuel problem

Thanks Laddie I checked and and both sides have independent fuel lines leading into the tanks
I have been asking around today and it almost seems like everybody knows there is a problem with the gas but no one talks of it directly. They all say to keep changing the filters and it will eventully go away. Still I really dont see whats clogging the filters. any further help will be greatly appreciated.

A anti- syphon valve will act just like a clogged filter at times, so are you sure the filters are really plugged, those spin on filters have alot of capacity
