i have a 88 omc 3 liter 4 cylinder and i went to replace the fuel filter on the fuel pump and it did not have the spring in with the filter on the fuel pump. well i now have the new filter and spring but i do not know if the spring goes in first then the filter and then the cover or if the filter goes on then the spring and then the cover. thanks for all help on this. the fuel pump is mounted on the side of the motor with the bowl or cover coming up off the top.
