I just bought a used minn kota allterrain 40 and put it on my boat with a 40 amp inline fuse. I tested the trolling motor and it worked fine when I hooked it up directly to the battery but now with the fuse and extra wire the fuse blows when going in reverse and the motor does nothing when put in forward. I only added 5 extra ft. of 10 gauge wire. What could cause the fuse to blow? Why doesn't it spin in forward gear with a good fuse?
