Not quite understanding you. The prop should pull straight back and off. If it's stuck then use a hammer with a piece of wood against the front of the blades.

Re: need help with prop

If you cannot get the prop off the shaft you might have to ruin the prop by cutting it off with a die grinder or cold chisle. A grease is supposed to be put on the shaft before the prop is put on inorder to help keep the prop from freesing as yours has. Motors run in salt water are real bad for haveing things fresse up more so than fresh water run motors. If you have another prop to replace the one on the motor, the call is up to you as to want to destroy the one on it now. Always use a good water resitant grease on the prop shaft anytine the prop is put on. When cutting the prop off be careful to not damage the thrust washer and prop shaft. Never use a open flame on that area because of the rubber in the hub of the prop and seals in the LU along with the LU grease. You could end up with a BIG fire. JMO

Re: need help with prop

After taking a second look at the picture it appears that the prop was put on the shaft without the thrust washer and is jammed on the shaft where the splines quit on the shaft. If the thrust washer was on the shaft between the nut and prop, that is what has happend. The prop was put on wrong and will be real hard to get it to break loose. The thurst washer goes on the prop shaft before the prop dose.

Tilt the motor up and put some penetrating oil on the splines. Wait a bit and put a 2X4 between the blades and the gearcase. Use some gentel leverage to pry the prop off. Heat is not a real good idea because of the rubber seals in the gearcase. You may end up using a puller on the brass prop hub, or using a dremel to cut a groove in the brass hub and splitting it with a cold chistle.
