Need Help With Suzuki 70hp 4 Stroke Fuel Problem !!

Hi all, I just got a used 1999 suzuki 70 hp 4 stroke. I got it all rigged up and have been trying to start it but it won't go It has spark but no fuel, there is fuel at the pump outlet but then it goes to some box behind the intake manifold (before the filter) and after that.........no fuel. Any ideas any one?? I don't have an owners manual so I don't even know what that "box" is.<br /><br />thanks

No offence, but a manual is a must for you. <br />No matter what suggestions you get here, it will involve some kind of checking, identifying, measuring etc. etc. and a manual will prove valuable again and again.<br /><br />Having said that, it sounds as if your carb's are blocked. Needles, valves or something. If the motor has been sitting for an extended period it may simply be gummed. Try hitting (careful!) the bowl with the back end of a screwdriver as an attempt to free the valve.

Thanks for the advice, yes, i have a manual comming. It can't be the carbs (electronic fuel injection).<br /><br />tom

OK - then the obvious way is to start out with the electrics. The manuals normally cover this in a systematic way, but until you get it:<br />Disconnect the battery, look the whole harness over, check for good and sound connections - remember all ground connections - take care if disconnecting anything for cleaning so you get it right back. <br />Apply WD40 (or alike) when cleaning. <br />It only takes one bad wire to keep it from running.

Any body else have any ideas? does any one have one of these with an owners manual that can tell me what the silver fuel thing is under the intake manifold?

That box is your vapor separator,kinda like a big float bowl.Inside is a float that tells your high pressure fuel pump when to turn on.If that float is stuck or the sensor is bad ,no fuel to the injectors.

hi, I also need some help with a fuel problem. I have a df 70 (1989) electronic.
The problem is that the engine starts and runs ok. However, a vent tube that is led to the cover over the air-intake is pumping fuel at rate equal to the pressure of the tell-tail into the base of the engine cover. Also, after running for a short time an intermittent beep from the engine management system sounds. Help!!.
