My tilt/trim went out on my 91 Evinrude 150 XP last week. I had trimmed the motor all the way up and it pinched the wires going to the tilt/trim motor causing a short in the wiring. I repaired the wires last night and was able to trim up and down. I tilted the motor up and put the transom saver on and lowered the motor again.
Two hours later I was putting on a new gas line and when I hit the tilt/trim up button the relays made a buzzing sound. It does the same thing with the down button. Are the relays bad?
When the short occurred, the wires got hot and it looks like the relay harness (where it plugs in) may have melted a little around the wires.
What do yall think?
