I had this motor on a different hull, everything was running fine, no electrical problems whatsoever. I removed the engine and wiring harness from this boat and put it on a different boat.
Now I don't have power at the ignition switch and nothing works, only thing it works is the tilt and trim switch on the motor. I connected the main harness the same way it was on the other boat...the 2 square connectors and the triangular on the motor side and then I connected the ignition switch, system check tach, warning horn, tilt and trim on the control box and thats it, the only wires I left disconnected where the ones for the trim gauge and the ones for the conventional tachometer.
I checked continuity between the connector and the motor and the connector on the ignition switch and the only one that had no continuity was the red/purple wire (#5).
Do I have a faulty wiring harness or maybe I have forgotten to connect something? any help would be greatly appreciated.
