I purchased a 1993 Conquest bowrider last year outfitted with a Yamaha 3.0 litre 4 cylinder engine and a Yamaha outdrive. Had a throttle linkage problem repaired last year before having the boat winterized and stored. When taken out of storage this spring, the boat will not engage into forward gear. Reverse is ok. My mechanic is a little bewildered by the Yamaha outdrive as he said it is similar to Mercury but not quite the same. Does anyone have any info on both the Yamaha motor/i/o setup? Is it a Yamaha motor and I/O or a clone? Any ideas on the gear problem or info on the Yamaha setup would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
