Need help with year of Evinrude V4 VRO 90 no model number plate on side of motor

Can anybody tell me if there is an alternative way to identify the model of my engine? The plate or sticker that was on the side of the motor (or at least I think it was), is not there anymore. Just purchased this boat from a recovery company and as far as I can tell the model number plate has been removed. Thank you in advance for any help.

There should be an ID plate on the transom bracket. And of course photos would help if you can't find the ID plate.

The engine should have the model/serial number stamped on a casting plug atop the powerhead. It's probably painted over, but if you clean it you should see the same information that was originally on the serial plate.
