Re: need help

Pointing the bow up is usually not a power problem. It is more usually a weight distribution and trim problem. With some boats, you simply must get more weight forward in order for them to come down and plane. If you don't get the weight forward, they will simply plow water all day long. If your engine is tilted out, it will simply aggravate this problem.

See if there is water in the hull or waterlogged foam in the hull below the floor. This can add significant weight to the stern and make planing difficult.
Take out a couple of people with you and have them sit as far forward as possible. See if she planes out then.

Re: need help

There is nothing to slip in the lower unit. It is either in gear, or out of gear.
It either works, or it doesn't.

Adjust trim to lowest possible setting and try it.

i had the power trim are the way down . and it stood straight up . the guy abought it from told me to raise the motor up a little till it starts to level then bring it back down , but that dont sound right , i own a boat be for with power trim and never had to do that , you raise the power trim that make it worse would it:confused: thats why im wonding if im getting enough power from the motor because the carbs are leaking

Re: need help

OK, yes, it definitely sounds like loss of power.
How high are the rpm's going?

Loss of power could be loss of compression, loss of spark, lack of fuel to one or more cylinders.

Testing the compression and spark will narrow it down.
