I want to change driveshaft in 1993 15 hp Johnson.do I need to take the lower unit apart. or just drop the lower unit and take off the water pump?

The shaft should slide out of the lower end. Just pull the water pump and slide it out

Thanks. I thought it would.how about putting the new one in. does it just slide in?

yes just slide in gently you may have to tun the shaft a little to line up
