my boat wont go over 2 thousand rpm and once it gets to 2thousand it starts to spit
it has a v8 motor and has an inboard motor
please help me

Need details.Brand of boat/motor I/O? (Make and model of the drive) or straight inboard?
Start with a compression check.Note the condition of the plugs when you remove them.Check for spark.
