Need help !

i have a 1982 mercruiser 470 inboard which turns over and wont start. I bought a new battery, new ignition, new spark plugs, new condensor, points, rotor button. Now its getting spark and i put gas in the carb and it still wont spit or sputter. I just bought the boat and it has been sitting for 5 years but ran perfect before sat. Can anyone please help me with the problem?

Try spraying ether in it.

ive tried carb and choke cleaner also but its not even acting like its gonna crank it just turns over

Just my two cents:
Timing could be way off. Check for fuel smell on plugs to verify it's getting fuel.

Also, check kill switch. Not sure whether you'd have a spark with it engaged.

either your points are not set right or the timing is way off an engine only requires 3 things to run spark, air, and fuel one of these is a missing link double check coil and points after checking timing
