Need identification and info on 5.5 evinrude fisherman

I recently acquired my grandfathers 1950's(just a guess) 5.5 outboard. Would love to know the year and any info about it. What gas/oil mix ratio I should use. Also what oil is best? thanks

A 1959 model.---Myself I would run that at 20:1 mix.

You will get differences of opinion on the mix ratio. Most would say 16:1, but personally, I have no problem with 20:1 One thing most all agree is use any reputable brand of TC-W3 outboard oil.

EDIT: Factory spec was 16:1 on the oil. If we tell you to mix it thinner, and it blows up, you will blame it on us. For that reason, I retract my previous comment. But the TC-W3 still stands
