I have acquired 2 old Evinrudes (FleeTwins). I was told they were both 5 HP. By diligent searching I was able to track model and serial numbers down to determine they are actually a 1954 7.5 HP 7514 and a 1963 10 HP 10302. I have a service/repair manual on the way for the "newer" one, but have yet to locate any info on the "older" 7.5 HP model. Any help I can get in locating service manuals or general information regarding service/operation/value of either motor would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bill,
If your manual for the '63 is a general service manual that covers several years/models, I think you'll find that much of the general service information is transferable to your '54. The ignition and carburetor systems are quite similar and service procedures would be the same.
You could probably run the '63 on a diet of 32:1, but the '54 should get 24:1 fuel mix.
Lots of service parts available for both motors - lower unit seal kits, impellers, carb kits, ignition components, etc. are all readily available.
Have fun!
Thanks Klondike and Chinewalker. I appreciate your responses. I'm glad to know they are common and parts will be available. Other than Maxrules, are there preferred sources for parts?

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions, but this should get me started.

'mornin' Bill,

Parts? your local omc/bomb dealer will have or can get much/most of what your looking for. Napa Auto Parts is a good source BUT,.... you'll need the correct oem part number.

On line - try
http://www.featherweightoutboards.com/
http://www.twincityoutboards.com/
Both of these places, tell'em what you've got & what your looking for and they'll check for the correct p/n

Scott,

WOW! She'z a beauty! '54??? did my neighbors '55 over the winter-great li'l runner. we've got her on a '59 Alaumagraft w/ bow deck. someday,... hope to post a pic
