Hello all. I just purchased a 78 glastron cv23 and it has a 460 in it with a berkley jet drive.

here are some of my questions...

1. I would like to know where I can get a shop manual for this engine and boat if possible.
2. until I get a manual I need to know what the torques specs are, the fireing order and if its a standard rotation or reverse.

I bought this boat and the guy said it had a blowen head gasket and he started to yank the engine but didn't have an over head crane like I do to pull it out, so he sold the boat. It didn't have a blowen head gasket it has water cooled headers and sucked water into the oil pan. So I put a re-ring kit in it and everything looks to be fine. I need now to put humpty dumpty back together again. So any info you can help with, would be great.
Thanks

Can't help yo with the manual, but......
Bump the starter....
If the pulleys turn clockwise, it is standard rotation...
1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8.....
Don't fergit it's a Ford, so the #'s for the wires on the dist. are counter clock wise.....
Hope this helps.....
Welcome to iboats, btw.......:)........JK

Bolts or Parts Lube or Sealer Torque to:
Main Caps Engine Oil 105 ft-lbs.
Connecting Rod Bolts Engine Oil 45 ft-lbs.
Cylinder Heads Engine oil (blind hole)Sealer(water jacket) 140 ft-lbs.
Rocker Arms (non-adjustable) Engine Oil 20 ft-lbs.
Oil Pump Engine Oil 25 ft-lbs.
Oil Pan Engine Oil 15 ft-lbs.
Cam Bolt (upper gear) Thread Locker 45 ft-lbs.
Front Cover Engine Oil 20 ft-lbs.
Intake Manifold (Cast Iron Heads) Non- Hardening Sealer 30 ft-lbs.
Valve Cover Engine Oil 10 ft-lbs.
Flexplate (Automatic)Flywheel (Clutch) Thread Locker 85 ft-lbs.
Clutch Pressure Plate Thread Locker 35 ft-lbs.
Centerbolt(Harmonic Damper) Thread Locker 90 ft-lbs.
Bellhousing(Transmission to Block) Engine Oil 25 ft-lbs.

Its kind confusing, the list specifies what part, then what lube whether oil or sealer, then the specs. hope this helps.
