Treeman, The last time I was on the SeaRay web site they had info on older model boats. You might see if you can find the model. It may tell you more about the motor as well. If the motor is 170HP, it may be a 4.3L V6, which is a good powerplant when coupled with an Alpha 1.

What's your reasoning for the trade? I would personally prefer the outboard, but that's just me.

Run. Run. - the 4.3 wasnt available at that vintage, it is the 470 dog 4cyl. Plus you mention floor trouble? Park it next to a $5 bill and it will double in value LOL.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and keep shopping. Buyers market - most mid 80s mercruiser powered boats from 17-21 ft had the silly 470 motor.
