Has anyone of this forum owned or new someone who owned a Sunbird Prowler Bass Boat? If so, what has been the experience? There is little information on this boat and the company went out of business. If a fiberglass boat from the 90's looks good --solid transom, solid floor, no cracks-- does the manufacturer of the boat make muck of a difference?

Thanks for your assistance,

Terry

Not as much when it comes to used boats. If you have two boats that are both in good shape, you can choose based on manufacturer but really it boils down to condition.

You can get an older "lesser" make/manufacturer boat that's in good shape, and it'll do you well for a long time.

Yep, pretty much as long as it's got the correct paperwork to be registered & titled to you, condition is everything. If the price is right & you're up for a project, even condition can be less then ideal. A maker & model might be helpful to figure how a project boat was originally put together, but often, until you tear it apart & post pix, no one's ever posted (or seen) details of a particular model/maker's boat.

Every now & then, a model name & a maker might be good to have, but IMHO, unless it's going to be a factory original resto, the maker doesn't make much difference.

Than you for the information. This helps. It looks like condition is the ultimate value in used boats.
