Need maintenance tips 4 new engine

I just bought a brand new 5 hp mercury short shaft outboard which i will use in salt water. I tried to give it a break-in but the gas tank is still full. This baby runs on air! Also, how do you flush it, without using a bucket?<br />Thanks.

Yes these motors will run for 8 hours on a gallon of gas.<br /><br />You can get a flushing attachment or "muffs" to flush the motor.<br />Hook muffs up to a garden hose.<br />Attach the muffs over the water intake of the motor.<br />Turn on water.<br />Start engine and run until thermostat opens and entire engine gets flushed. (about 10 minutes)
