Just acquired these two engines from the estate of a good friends family. They were covered and in storage (corner of storage shed)for several years. Physically, they appear to be in pristine condition. I'm hoping they'll be good performers for my two son's old fishing boats. I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me the year, fuel mix, plug/gap, a manual source, and any other information you might find appropriate.

Johnson Seahorse 10 (2 cyl) model QD-23R ser 2242829
Evinrude Aquasonic Fastwin 15 (2 cyl) ser 15014-15887

Thanks!

The Evinrude is a 1955 model, the Johnson a 1962 model. Both have a 24:1 fuel/oil ratio. Plugs for the 10 hp are Champion J4C, for the 15 hp J6C, gap for both is .030". Try www.kencook.com and click on the "marine literature" link for reproductions of the factory manuals.

-John
