need more take off power

ok i got a 1993 mariah diablo with a 3.0 4 cylinder i/o it runs good about 4000 rpms at wot. the problem is it takes forever to get there, once you slow down or stop.im running a 3 blade 14 1/4 19 pitch prop.should i change the prop? or will trim tabs help? it has a sting ray thing on it now.

13 x 19 would likly work better. Or perhaps a 4 blade. I think your prop is a little big for the 3.0.

It would be senseless to get another 19 pitch in any diameter. That's what you have now and you're under-revving and lugging the motor.

Drop down to a 17 pitch and it'll come out of hole better and put you in proper RPM range. It's quite typical for 3.0's of your vintage to run 17 pitch props.

Indeed Smart Tabs will also help. But prop it correctly first, and then decide if you want to add tabs later.
