Man talk about a bad month financially!

A little more than a month ago the driveshaft on my outboard let go.

Last week on a trip home from the bay I got a flat tire on my trailer. Replaced it.

10 miles after that flat tire, the other tire blew.

Went out to my truck a few days ago and noticed some fluid underneath. I figured it was probably the thermostat gasket since I recently replaced that. Not so easy :( I couldn't find the leak but narrowed it down to the area around the waterpump. No such luck there either. It was the timing chain cover. Unfortunately work is keeping me pretty busy and we're in the process of buying a house so I'm paying a shop to do it. Since they have the cover off as well I might as well have them replace the chain. Labor is NOT cheap.

So in recap, outboard driveshaft, 2 tires blown out, and now a timing cover, all right before I'm getting pre approved on a mortgage.

Ouch!

My mother always said "trouble comes in 3's", so hopefully you're out of bad luck! Hang in there!

Yep that's what I'd heard too, things break in 3's. We'll call the tires "1" so you should be all done. You have your 3.

Re: Need my stuff to quit breaking!

I feel your pain, Saxrulez. Just Tuesday I took my old toyota truck to the tire shop with an egg shaped tire on it. Told them to put a pair on the front and I'd be back to pick it up. Now, the guy that owns the shop lives across the street from me and knows I drive this truck maybe 4-5 times a month tops. I go pick up the truck there are two brand spankin new tires on the front of my truck to the tune of $310 ! ! ! I pitched a frickin fit ! told him to take em off that I wasn't paying that much for a pair of tires for truck I only drive a couple times a month. After he and I went round and round over it he cut $60 of my bill.

NOW....this mornin the wife drops her vehicle off at the same shop with a "Squeaky noise" problem. One of my best friends is the chief mechanic there and I trust him totally. He calls and says its the water pump. So there goes another $200.

SaxRules.......dont feel like the Lone Ranger.
