Need new Throttle / Shift Cable?

I have a 1995 Evinrude 175 Ocean Pro and the throttle is getting hard to push. After I put the engine in forward gear, the throttle feels like it's binding up when I try to give it more gas. I looked at the remote engine control assembly, and all the guts look pretty good. I think the throttle / shift cables are bad. Does that sound right? Are there any special tricks to worry about when changing those cables? Thanks in advance for any replies.

disconnect at engine and try them. you can order without the ends and use the existing ends. or order with the ends. number should be stamped on the sheathing. snaking them thru the hull tie a string to them when you pull out.

Thanks!

I didn't even think to unhook them first and try them before I started pulling them outta that hole.
