Need opinions

In case anyone doesn't remember I was having problems with my 55hp yamaha at wot that I just bought two weeks ago. After running fine for about 10 mins it seemed as if someone threw out the anchor and would not run at full power or full rpms. Well I took the the boat to the shop and told them what it was doing. They took off the carbs to inspect em and said they were squeeky clean no sign of varnish and the previous owner was telling the truth when he said he had them rebuilt last year. The only thing they found wrong with the carbs was the top carbs float was way out of wack. The tech said instead of being in the middle it was pushed all the way up. The only other thing they said they could find wrong was that the motor had the wrong plugs in it by factory specs. Im picking up my boat tomorrow and was wondering if anyone felt these problems could cause my symptoms I was having. The shop said to just take it to the lake and run it and see if that fixes it. If anyone has any Ideas of things I can ask them to double check before I pick the boat up I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the help
