I need to order a 2 wire trim motor for my 1988 125 HP Force and would like to find a part #. I have seen motors on the web (ebay is one) that look like my motor, but need to be sure. The part numbers these motors claim to replace are Force 820545, F694541-1, and F694541-2. Any help with this would be appreciated. Also, anyone know of some good places/sites other than ebay to order these? Thanks.

Most any parts dealer will have a good replacement for 2w. Since 2w originally shipped with tall reservoir you won't have any compatibility problems.

If the Iboats search doesn't give you any listings then just go directly to the dealer's website. By and large, ARCO makes nice products. However, your best bet is to get Pump Assy rebuilt. Motor and Valve body often go out within a season or two of each other ... does your system show any drift down? Pump assy. versus just motor usually fixes all problems until the 30Y mark. The Prestolite 2w is a great motor to rebuild. You can get while pump assy rebuilt for around same cost as new motor only. Or if just motor then less than half.

Re: need part # for trim motor

Thanks RRitt for the info and yes I do experience drift down. Since I'm a rookie at doing my own repairs let me be sure I understand what you are saying. Your saying it would be best to rebuild the pump assembly/valve body and replace the motor? If so, who could I get to rebuild the valve body/pump? Think I can do the work (minus the rebuild) just by following the manual, or is it fairly difficult? Any special tools needed? Thanks in advance for your or any one else's help!

Re: need part # for trim motor

"Motor" = electric motor with fluid reservoir
"valve body" = actual pump including valves and distribution manifold
"pump assembly" = electric motor + fluid reservoir + valve body

If the motor does not have any rust then a set of new seals should make it last for another 10 years. If it does have rust then it will need rebuild ($100ish). Since you already have bleed down then I'd suggest finding valve body or vavle body rebuild first and then letting the motor go along for the ride. Motors are easy. Valve bodies are hard.
