Ok guys I just purchased an 1988 Ponton with a Johnson 60 HP model # J60TLCCR. This is a 3 cyclinder 3 carb model. They guy I purchased the boat from has let it setup for a couple of years and I am giving it a good tune up. I believe the diaphram on the old by passed VRO pump is leaking. It will crank up and run for about 5 seconds then dies. I am going to rebuild the carbs and thought while I was in there I would put a regualr pump just to be safe in case the pump is the problem. Can anyone give me a part number or a link to a regular NON VRO fuel pump? I have searcher the Net hard but cannot get any for sure answers. Thanks for your help.

438402 is the number of the "VRO" premix conversion kit

Also, a sharp parts person or mechanic can set you up with the tradtional fuel pump and plumbing used in the "pre-VRO" days.

Yet another boater succombs to old wives tales. :'(

More of these motors die from the famous brother-in-law that failed to premix the gas while borrowing the boat thinking it was injected than ever did from these tall tales of failed VROs. You can probably get a rebuild kit for your VRO.
