Need Part Number (or name) to replace Drive Oil Hose...

Finally found our drive oil leak! The hose that goes from the reservoir to the lower unit is rotted out. Now I'm line trying to purchase a replacement hose... hmmmm :confused:... any body have any info to help point us to the correct part?

1998 Mercruiser 5.0L Alpha I Gen II... pic below should give all info.

Go to your local Merc dealer and you can get the hose for about 15 bucks. It's not an aftermarket part. 32-1940971

That's a 54" hose... sorry I misposted. The hose we are looking for is a short hose that runs from the bellhousing to the outdrive. Any idea on that part number?

I believe your looking for the hose that runs from the outside of the transom assembly to the bellhousing? There is no hose between the bellhousing and the outdrive, That would be a plunger (valve assembly).;)

To buy the hose on the outside of the boat you will still need to use Don's part number he posted for you. The hose is the same on the inside as it is on the outside of the boat. You will need to buy the hose by the bulk to keep it OEM (Stock).

Look at number 7 in the link below, You should be able to see what I mean.:)
#7 (hose) connects to #1 (fitting). the fitting runs thru the transom assembly and the same hose connects to both sides of the boat.

Tips on Changing Hose for Drive Oil???

The diagram helps! Thank you. Do you know if the outdrive has to be removed to change the change the hose? Any tips or suggestions on the easiest way to change the hose?
