Could someone please tell me the part #s for the plastic and metal collars that go on the drive shaft above the water pump. I changed it last fall and have caused the "idle in gear" knock that seems to be so common. Since it looks like i'm going to be taking it back apart, I'd like to order new collars just in case I damage one. Also, I ordered a shop manual for it, but haven't looked at the cooling section yet. Does it explain that you need to pull up on the shaft or is that a trick of the trade that experienced boat mechanics have picked up on?

The motor is a 2001 VX200TLR.

Re: Need part #s

actually it does state in BOLD letters to pull up on the shaft while seating the collar with a "suitable tool".
what I find is the aft prop spacer washer works very well as does the aft drive part of the plastic hub style props.
just pull up on the shaft and tap the coller into place.
most likly you can simply remove the water pump housing, pull up and tap yours into place correctly and go play.
