Hi,
I need some help with selecting a prop for my Mercury 110 9.8 two stroke. It is going to live on my 14' Springbok Aluminum V. The propeller that is on it now is bent and gouged badly from the P.O. I will mostly be using the boat on calm water with only myself and a little bit of tackle on board, but once in a while I will be loading her up with 3 pretty big guys to fish the river. I have no idea how the prop that's on there now would perform, and without a good prop on it the RPM reading seems useless at this point. I will be taking the prop to a prop shop and have it fixed for a spare, but I need a prop for this weekend!

Iboats doesn't seem to have any props available for this Motor. I looked a few other places and found a couple but I am lost on what pitch. It seems 9" diameter is what it came with, then either a 7, 9 or 10 pitch. What would you recommend? I don't have a tach yet, but I will be getting one shortly. (Probably a tiny-tach.)

I thank you for your help!

The prop section shows one prop(7" pitch) for that motor. That sounds about right, especially with the "big" guys on board.

I recently went through the same thing and I went with a higher pitch prop (9"). It works really well for me, even when loaded down pretty good. Will run me 22mph in 14 flat bottom w/ 15 hp merc.
