I just finished breaking in my Nissan 40B (TLFI) with the stock 11.1" X 14" Aluminum propeller. I desire to install a Stainless Steel propeller. My boat is 15' Weldcraft aluminum flat (48" bottom w/ 22" sides). It is equipped with a Center Console, floorboards and two seats. There is some weight in this boat with most of it (including the operator) to the rear. With one person operating the boat, my Max RPM with nose down trim was 4800. With aggressive (nose up and bouncing) trim it was 5000. With two people aboard my Max RPM was 4800 with optimized trim (nose down turning up best RPM). Nissan offers a 10.5" diameter stainless propeller in various pitches (11" - 17"). Nissan spec calls for a full throttle RPM range between 5150 to 5800 with 5500 being average. Please advise!

14 definately sounds too steep. It's either going to be 12 or 13. If you travel light most of the time, aim for the 13. If you travel loaded most of the time, 12. Figure a SS is going to turn 100-200 faster with the same pitch due to the thinness of the blades. Each inch pitch reduced will add another 100-200.
