Need quick help

Buying second hand motor. 2000 Yamaha 115hp 2 stroke. Took a test run and it sounds really good, doesn't miss a beat hits around 40-45 mph comfortably. Should a still spend the money for a compression test, or do things sound ok. Wouldn't you feel or hear missing if there was a problem. Thanx for the help guys.

If money is an issue, maybe if you buy your own gauge and you could test it yourself. I dont think they cost very much. Plus you can do it right there on site, and not have to take it into a mechanic.
