Need some control help

Engine im workin with here is a 1957 Johnson Seahorse 35 HP...i think the control box i have will work with it but im not positive. Its from an older Evinrude(no idea of the year) but ive been told it will work.

The ends of the cables currently on the control box...

Now, is the end on that particular cable the correct one for this motor? Im basically getting to the point that i need to order cables for both the throttle and shifter but am clueless as to what i actually need in terms of cables. Do the ends usually come with the cables or is that something that needs to be purchased separately? Any help would be most appreciated!

controller will work no problems, the cable end you show is for the throttle, you only show one cable end and one side of the control. remove the 2 screws that hold the clip on and the complete white end should come of with a little pressure, save the old cable until you get the new ones. it will show you have far to push the new cable in, the rod has a hole in it, that the cable goes thru, and the screws tighten down on the cable. same for the control end. do not break them hard to find.

these are the replacement cables. johnson/evinrude use the same cables.

Ok, the cables you posted, do those come with the cable ends(where it attaches to the motor) or do those need to be purchased separately? I have the throttle end that connects to the motor but the shifter end(the one that puts the motor in gear) that connects to the motor is broken.

Alright...think i figured out the cable situation and what i need...but will these work for cable connectors at the motor?

It says they are for "engines 35 horsepower and below 1973 - 1978" but will they work on a 57 35horse?

just what you need, that is what i used on my 55 15 hp and 58 35hp. the cable do not come with the either end.
