need some help on id and parts

I have a 40 hp electromatic johnson seahorse. Trying to get a carb rebuild kit with float, and fuel pump rebuild kit, etc.

model: RK-26S
serial number: J2434567

If anyone could help, looking for the year and whatever else you can tell me about this motor. I am getting conflicting results. Guy I bought it from said 68, Iboats says 67, guy here says 64.

Would a 71 float work with this carb?

1964, carb kit sierra #187024 float BRP#375792 which is the same float in the 71 40.

Thanks! I will be ording now! So, i can use the 71 float? that is awesome. Was told that it was a cork float and would have to rebuild it myself! looking at Iboats website there are two listed for the 71, will either one work?

Also, I am replacing the points, condesers and coils! hopefully this will make her hum once again! Any reason not to?

The aftermarket kit Sierra # 18-7024 does not have the float. I believe you need to order that from any authorized BRP Dealer - Part # 375792. http://dealerlocator.evinrude.com/EN/?Rnd=1172157085156

It is probably cheaper to buy the OEM kit # 382052 which comes with the float.
