Need Some Help

I just had a CMC PT 130 installed on my Bass Tracker with a 40 hp Johnson yesterday. here is my concern, the tilt assist release lever that allows the motor to be lifted by hand was broke so I told the installer not to worry about fixing it as the pt 130 tild and trim would be all I need, will the motor jump upward if I shift it into reverse and open the throttle or will my motor stay in place.
