Alright I acquired a 1986 Polar Kraft 16' aluminum fishing boat with a highlander trailer for free last year... I completely restored the boat and added a 1976 75hp Evinrude as well as a 24v trolling motor with 2 deep cycles...

I'm wondering about the tires and springs of the trailer, currently the springs are all most flat so I know I will be replacing them, but my question is how stiff of a spring to use...

I replaced the tires to get the trailer home last year but now with everything loaded in the boat I think they are little undersized for the job.. I can't remember off hand what size they are though.. I have attached a pic of the tires and the trailer...

Since this photo I have completely redone the bunks, hubs, lights as well as sanded and painted the trailer..

I have come up with I am calling total weight of the boat fully loaded:
Boat = 472 lbs
Motor = 225 lbs
Batteries = 160 lbs
Fuel (full) = 75 lbs
Trolling Motor = 75 lbs
Gear = 60 lbs

For a grand total of 1067 lbs. fully loaded...

What type of tire and spring combination would you guys run on my setup?

Thanks in advance,

Oldyota
