Hello, all. Several of my boating friends are now tuned in to this site---thanks again for helping all of us.

I have a buddy who is looking at a 26-foot Formula somewhere near College Station, Texas. We live 1000 miles from there.

Anyone know a trustworthy soul near College Station who could do a mechanical survey and sea trial?

Re: need survey

ddboater,

I purchased a 32' repo-boat last fall from a Houston, TX location. I located a surveyor on the internet and he did a great job inspecting the boat and providing a written report complete with photographs. He provided the service for about $14 per foot.

I will get his name and phone number this weekend when I get to the boat. He probably would have a mileage charge to get to College Station, but it isn't too far from Houston.

If you get another surveyor - just make sure he has "certification" by one of the surveyor organizations.

erie_guy

Re: need survey

Thanks, Erie guy---I'll pass the info on to my friend. Hopefully, he will avoid those issues we see out here every day from people who purchase boats without a survey/sea trial!
