Ok so ordered this shreuder valve tool from pc performance mercury tool in hopes I could use it on my high pressure fuel side. Carter fuel cell //TBI. But the one up side female is to big for my fuel line attachment. Is there any other way to check high side on the TBI. ??

Yep that was my post and pic, and sorry it didn't work for your TBI. As before I'm not a VP guy this is why I said like this one. Sure is something because Merc and VP use the GM TBI unit.

Yea I figured it was worth a shot. Im going to see if I can change the fitting on the fuel line to fit te tool. That's my next best option.

Ok I does it go between the throttle body and fuel line. Or fuel pump and line. ?

Between line and TB
There are others, and I would suggest pulling the fuel line and take it to the GM parts counter to see if they have the adapter.

Did another search for GM TB adapters and summit has a few of them

I might be in the wrong area here in this question but I just went back over your No HIgh pressure schrader valve Vp GSI ?? topic and it seems you were looking for a fuel pressure schrader valve for your stock Volvo engine fuel system.

Is your engine charcoal gray color? You should have a fuel pressure schrader "valve" located on the top cover fuel pump assembly seen as item number 2 in the following link and item # 19 should be the valve cover/cap black in color.... http://www.volvopentastore.com/Fuel-...view_id.775947

And yes as mentioned, the adaptor tool ALLDodge found for you would go in-between the throttle-body and fuel line which would help affirm fuel flow is heading to the TB too.

Go to amazon and pick up a fuel pressure test kit that has gauge and a bunch of fittings.

I bought this one and it worked on my VP MPI fuel rail. I didn't try it on my truck TBI, but it has several other fittings and adapters.

Ok thanks to all of the great info. I got this figured out now. Yes my gsi is charcoal color. GSI PEFS. 2000 chaparral. I'll look for the #19 check valve on the fuel cell. Only I seen. Was the low pressure check valve. And it was in spec. I'll take another look at seeing if mercruiser adapter may fit between the TB and line. But I did find this kit as Silverbullet555 mentioned and it may be the only thing that works as I've been researching. .

Found this for The GM TBI
Just so you're aware I'm pretty sure that even though it says fits GM throttle body that at least on the Mercruiser side of this, this GM TB fitting "adaptor" doesn't screw into either it was the throttle body side or maybe it was the fuel line side as there seemed to be a difference if you didn't use the Mercruiser and/or probably Volvo Penta's "Special Tool" to fit "their" connectors/fitting adaptors vs GM tuck fuel line fittings.

Unfortunately thanks to photobucket going to an expensive way to allow photo images to remain up, the photos used in the following iboats topic of where a past member went through this ordeal has now vanished but I recall him having the GM TBI adaptor and it wouldn't fit...Plus his topic didn't surprise me as I tend to recall trying it on a Mercuiser years ago myself and couldn't seem to make it work either at the time but I don't recall what actual side wouldn't screw in.

^ Let us know what you find as it's been awhile and an update would be nice.:encouragement:

Interesting. Yea it's the fuel line connectors that are the problem here. I'm going to perfect the Amazon GM TBI kit and see what happens. Then update thread.

Suggest removing the fuel line and see what it looks like. This way might have a better idea of what you need. Here is another one for GM TBI note the O ring

Yes alldodge. That's the one I've been looking at that looks like what would work from my research has the o ring like on my line. , I'll have to order the gage with it cause the shreuder valve is different than a standard fuel gage fitting.

TBI high pressure schader valve. Solved!!

This is it , worked perfectly. Just screwd the schrader valve coupler into the high pressure pump on the carter fuel cell and and thing linked right up to the fuel line. Had 30 psi consistently under revs and idle. Does that sound correct.? Thx

Great to hear it works, but your giving us a lot of issue with so many new threads. To get all the info together it needs to be in one thread

Its my understanding that 30psi is correct for the GSI

If that closes your issue, it would be a good idea. If its just anther piece of info necessary to continue to troubleshoot, then also a good idea.
