need the help of some chevy guys

I am getting my motor together slowly but surely, i have run into a problem though, my guy told me to use thick intake manifold gaskets, well i bought them and went to put the intake on tonight and i forgot to get them with the exhaust crossovers. can i cut the hole out in these or do i have to find more? mine are the felpro with the blue ring around the holes. thanks for looking

Lay the manifold on the engine and see how it seals

Looks okay --- > then try it with the thick gaskets to see if it seals now. You may need thinner gaskets.

If you have an electric choke you do not need the exhaust crossover ---- if not you can cut the gaskets ---- make a nice clean cut so residue does not build up around gaskets.

Added: That gasket is tough stuff ---- will break fairly easy --- I would mark it --- a little grease etc,. --- then drill small holes around the inside of the mark --- then a dremel for a nice finish.

i do have electric choke, the gaket that came off had a metel jacket with a 1/2 in hole in it. i cn put another hole or cut it al the way out, i didnt want tocut it and then burn the gasket up and mess it up.

you dont need the hole...that is there for cold weather....it heats the bottom of the carb to help it from icing in the winter time...unless you are going boating under 40deg weather I would leave it closed...

cool, thanks alot, those intake gaskets were preatty high, didnt want to buy more, thanks for the good news.
