need tip(s) on removing exhaust elbow

before i bring out the mega sledge hammer is there a tip to removing the elbow fromt the exhaust manifold?

I did remove the bolts

What kind of engine?.....
That said, hit it wih a mallet, it will come off without damage.......

it is a 5.7 350 merc.

i ended up using a small prybar and put it between the elbow and exhaut manifold and separating....slowly.

You should avoid prying them apart as you can bugger the mating surfaces, there is not a lot of steel there....
What's done is done, but do check them before re-installing.....
