My wife and I live in McKinney, Texas (forty miles from Dallas) and recently brought a second lakefront home in Gun Barrel City, Texas on Cedar Creek Lake. We are in the market for a 21' or 23' SX series Yamaha jet boat, more than likely a 2008.' Now for our problem: This is our first experience in buying a new boat other than restoring and selling a Gibson Houseboat over six years ago. We have found the local dealer in the Gun Barrel City area with a dealership that looks trashed out who prices these boats (even at the end of the year) at $2,000 to $3,000 over the factory suggested price. We shopped in Dallas at Phil Dill Boats and found their pricing policy even worse, beside being a mouse-type house. We checked prices in a dealership in Waco, and when we got ready to buy found out that the salesperson "lowballed" us over $3,000 on the price. Is there such a thing as a Yamaha Dealer that would sell and deliver a new Yamaha boat to Cedar Creek Lake at a reasonable price, for a reasonable profit or are all the dealers mainly liars and thieves in the market?
