That will be a 'pre-Alpha', an MC-1 to be precise....

Impeller number 47-89984.

# 47-65960 superceeded to #47-89984T4 yours has Q5 at the end but the main Merc# is correct as Achris found also. My guess is it will be fine, go for it.

It's the same impeller from about 1967ish to 1991ish.

Yeah, what the other guys said... Merc have been messing around with part numbers for the last 10 years, adding 'T's and 'Q's to everything... As long as the '47-89984' bit is the same, it's essentially the same impeller. I think the Q5 is a kit, which will include gaskets, and the base plate, I think...

You are right as always chris :)
Part number 47-89984Q5 is a complete kit, And part number 47-89984T4 shows it to be an impeller only.
To see a picture of both the items, You could type in the part numbers in this link and click on pictures to the right.
http://www.mercruiserparts.com/partsByNumber.asp

Also the difference between the (Q) and the (T) is for marketing purposes. The (Q) is branded for the Quicksilver line of parts that come in the silver boxes, And the (T) is Mercruisers brand of parts that come in the black boxes now.

They came out with a Quick Reference guide of Mercury-branded versus Quicksilver-branded Part Numbers on (April 9, 2009)
