The drain plugs on my Evinrude 115 are all goobered up (from past owner/mechanic using a bad screwdriver on it).

The engine model number is "BE115GLEUA"

I want to know if the below items will work. I know the plugs say they're for etec motors, but I love the allen wrench design. Will these work on my motor?

Finally, I have a quick question regarding filling the lower end with gear oil. I filled it from the bottom hole as always, capped the top, then capped the bottom. I thought I lost a bit out the bottom when trying to get the screw in, so I took the top off and put a bit in there. Now I don't want to overfill it, so if oil was still coming out the top after I added a bit, should I wait until it compeltely stops before putting the upper plug in? Is it correct to say that when you unscrew the top screw, no oil at all should come out?

Thanks!

Bump

Would like to order the parts today (and verify oil level), so if someone could help out here that would be great!

Threads should be the same, I took a set of allen's out of a 73 20hp and they were the same thread.

Both screws out, fill from the bottom till it comes out the top. Replace the top screw, this helps with loss out the bottom, a little is acceptable.

Trying to top-up through the top hole is a waste of time and not necessary unless you really lose a fair bit while trying to refit the bottom plug.

Re: Need to know if these parts will work

I think I need to re-state the question.

I did lose what I felt was a fair bit out the bottom.

My question is in regards to taking the top plug out. If while checking the oil it comes out of the top hole should I let it finish then re-plug, or is it normal for oil to come out of the top plug when you pull it?

I know the process of filling from the bottom; this question more or less deals with checking once that has been done.

Thanks!

If it's filled beyond the vent plug then yes it will run out when you pull it. Fill it, put the screws in and go, no need to reckeck.
